My work as a professional Cat Photographer requires that my husband and I travel to cat shows around the country. For those times when we are away from home, we need to be confident that our four cats are being well taken care of. We needed a professional Pet Sitter.

Previously, we had endured a worrisome relationship with an individual whose only claim to “professional” status was that she consistently collected her sitting fee

from us. We needed to replace her with someone we could rely on to show up, feed our kitties and spend some time with them, bring in the mail, and be properly concerned about the health and safety of our feline family and the security of our home.

We did a Yellow Pages search and called several Pet Sitters. Of those candidates we talked with, we invited two finalists to come over for an interview. Both individuals were personable and well-qualified with impressive credentials and excellent references. But we chose Danielle because we saw that she felt it was just as important to meet our cats and try to make friends with them as it was to spend time with us.

That made us feel good about entrusting our cats to Danielle and, during the many times that we have left them in her care, our trust in her — and even more, our admiration for all the little things she has done to deserve that trust – continues to grow. When we get home from a trip, we always delight in reading the accounts of each day’s visit, which she writes in the Daily Diaries she leaves for us. The very fact that Danielle takes the time this way to let us know what went on with our pets is an indication of her professionalism. But it’s apparent in what she says in these little journal entries that she has also taken the time to really get to know the personalities of each cat, to earn their trust and to be their friend and caregiver in our absence.

That goes beyond the merely competent “taking care of business” definition of professionalism. That is someone who genuinely loves animals and loves her job caring for them. And that’s something you can’t buy. We enthusiastically recommend Protecting Max.
